AI Chat Manager · Privacy
Local processing. Under your control.
This privacy policy explains what information the “AI Chat Manager” Chrome extension reads, why it is needed, where it is processed and what remains under your control.
Document Information
Updated: 29 July 2026
Version: 0.3
Status: Pre-release — product preview
The extension is not yet generally available. This policy describes the intended data handling of the current pre-release version. Before private testing or publication in the Chrome Web Store, it must be checked against the behaviour of the build that is actually distributed.
1. Overview
Nabuvia AI Chat Manager helps you discover, review, archive and delete conversations in the Gemini web interface. Its single purpose is to help you manage conversation histories and AI chats.
The Chrome extension reads conversation titles, identifiers and URLs available on the Gemini page to create your individual review queue. Rendered message content and accessible references are read only when you request an archive. The extension processes the information it accesses locally in Chrome and does not automatically send conversation data, diagnostic data or archives to Nabuvia.
Nabuvia AI Chat Manager is a standalone product by Nabuvia. It is not affiliated with Google and is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Google.
2. Information handled by the Chrome extension
AI conversation metadata
To discover your AI chats, the Chrome extension may read conversation titles, internal identifiers, conversation URLs and the page state rendered by Gemini. Conversation URLs may qualify as browsing activity under Chrome Web Store definitions.
Rendered conversation content
When you explicitly request an archive, the Chrome extension reads messages and other content rendered in that conversation to prepare the local archive. Conversations may contain personal communications, user-generated content, health information or other sensitive information.
The archive may also record accessible links and references to images or attached files. The extension does not currently download or embed the binary contents of uploaded images, documents or generated media.
Workflow, result and diagnostic information
To support progress reporting and safe recovery after a reload, the
extension stores workflow snapshots for each active Gemini tab in
chrome.storage.local. These snapshots may contain
discovered conversation titles, identifiers, URLs and pinned status;
archive and deletion result metadata; timestamps, counts and status
information; and up to 100 structured diagnostic events.
Diagnostic history is designed not to contain conversation message text, raw page content or raw DOM. The privacy-filtered report available through “Copy technical diagnostics” additionally excludes conversation titles, URLs, stable conversation identifiers and free-form diagnostic messages.
Conversation message content and generated ZIP files are not stored
in chrome.storage.local. While an archive is being
created, conversation content is processed temporarily and locally
in Chrome by the extension. The completed ZIP archive is saved to
your device through Chrome.
Extension preferences
Preferences that do not concern AI-chat content—currently only your
choice or confirmation of whether an archive should include PDF
files—may be stored using chrome.storage.sync. Chrome may
synchronize these preferences through your Chrome account according
to your Chrome and Google settings. Conversation metadata, message
content and diagnostic history are not stored in sync storage.
Information not accessed
The Chrome extension does not access your passwords, cookies or Google authentication tokens. It does not collect conversation content for advertising, profiling or the training of AI models.
3. Why the information is used
- To identify Gemini conversations and display a review queue.
- To show enough metadata for you to decide what to keep, archive or delete.
- To prepare an archive only when you request that action.
- To remember non-content preferences needed for the extension experience.
- To help diagnose a problem when you voluntarily send filtered technical information to support.
The extension does not sell user data, use it for personalized advertising or use it for purposes unrelated to conversation management.
4. Legal bases
To the extent that Nabuvia acts as a controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), processing is based on the following legal bases:
- Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, where processing is necessary to provide extension functions that you request or to take pre-contractual steps at your request.
- Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, where processing is necessary for security, reliability, diagnostics or the handling of a voluntary support request. Nabuvia’s legitimate interest is to operate, protect and improve the extension and to respond to support requests.
- Article 6(1)(c) GDPR, where processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
The extension does not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you, and it does not create user profiles.
5. Local processing, storage and retention
The extension processes Gemini metadata and rendered archive content locally on your device through Chrome. Conversation content, archives and technical diagnostics are not automatically transmitted to Nabuvia.
Gemini remains an online service operated by Google. The extension works within the Gemini page already loaded in the browser. Actions such as deleting a conversation are processed by Gemini and affect information held in your Google account. Nabuvia does not operate or control Gemini’s storage.
Per-tab workflow information in
chrome.storage.local is used for progress reporting and
recovery. It is normally removed when the associated Gemini tab is
closed and can also be removed by clearing the extension’s data or
uninstalling the extension, subject to Chrome’s behaviour.
Non-content preferences in chrome.storage.sync may be
synchronized by Chrome. Downloaded ZIP files are ordinary files
stored on your device and are not removed when the extension is
uninstalled.
7. Your choices and control
Notice for test and release versions. Before a test or release build processes Gemini data for the first time, the extension interface must clearly explain which data it accesses and for what purpose. Processing must begin only after your active, informed confirmation. This website notice does not replace the notice within the extension.
- Before its first Gemini readiness check or conversation discovery, the extension must display the in-product notice and let you decide whether to continue.
- After your confirmation, opening the extension may perform a local Gemini readiness check. You decide when a complete-history discovery, archive or deletion begins. Deletion always requires a separate confirmation.
- You can clear extension data through Chrome.
- You can uninstall the extension at any time.
- You control downloaded archives and are responsible for deleting or securing them.
8. Your data-protection rights
Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you may have the right to request access to, rectification or erasure of your personal data, restriction of processing and data portability. You may also have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Where information is processed only locally in your browser or stored only on your device and is never transmitted to Nabuvia, Nabuvia may not possess that information and therefore may be unable to access, correct or delete it on your behalf. You can manage such information through Chrome, the extension and your device.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority. In Ireland, the competent authority is the Data Protection Commission, 6 Pembroke Row, Dublin 2, D02 X963, Ireland: www.dataprotection.ie .
9. Security and data minimization
Nabuvia limits handling to information needed for the extension’s stated purpose, avoids remote processing of conversation content and separates content from any preference eligible for Chrome sync. No storage or software can be guaranteed completely secure, so downloaded archives should be protected like the conversations they contain.
10. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The current version obtains conversation information from content rendered in the Gemini web interface rather than through a separate Google API. Nabuvia applies the same Limited Use principles to all Google-derived information handled by the extension. Such information is used only for the disclosed review, archiving and deletion functions and is not used for advertising, profiling, credit decisions or sale.
11. Controller, contact and policy changes
The published policy must identify the legally responsible controller. If Nabuvia has not yet been incorporated, use the full legal name of the responsible person. Once the Irish company has been incorporated, replace that entry with the company’s exact registered name and registration number.
